Result: Sussex Dolphins best Team Southampton: 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-17)
Sussex dominated against a weak Southampton side to come back to winning ways after the Cup defeat the previous weekend. Sussex struggled to stay focused and frequently played to the Team Southampton level allowing errors to creep in. However Sussex were never in any danger of losing and with a six point serving run from Sophie Fletcher in set 1 followed by a nine point run in set 2, Team Southampton were unable to contain Sussex.
Player of the match went to birthday girl Victoria Sarsfield for some excellent strong and consistent hitting. This result should stand the team in good stead within the league with only one loss so far but the team will need to rise to face more challenging matches in their next fixtures.
